The king sent messengers carrying letters to Jerusalem and the surrounding towns of Judah. He directed Jews to follow customs that had been unknown in the land.
And all nations consented according to the word of king Antiochus.
The king also sent messengers with a decree to Jerusalem and all the towns of Judea, ordering the people to follow customs that were foreign to the country.
The king sent letters by messenger to Jerusalem and to the cities of Judah, ordering them to follow customs foreign to their land;
